Full-Time EFL (English as a Foreign Language) and Bible Teacher

Date: 2010-05-31 03:05:35, Location: Japan, Asia

Zion Language Institute is a small, privately-owned English Institute. It began in 2002, and has a very good reputation in the surrounding community. We offer two types of weekly classes: English Fun and English Intensive, to meet the needs of our students. English Fun classes are offered to students ages 2-11 and to adults, while English Intensive classes help junior high and high school students with the rigorous study that is needed at that age.

Zion started out as an outreach program at Fukushima First Bible Baptist Church, pastored by Rev. Akira Sato, in 2002, drawing approximately 130 non-Christian children from the area into the church during its first three years. In 2005, partly because of its reputation spreading wider, partly for better financial stability, and mostly because of our passion for preaching the gospel through language-learning to a larger group, we established Zion as an independent private language institute in the neighboring town of Tomioka. Since 2002, Zion has employed three full-time foreign teacher to teach Preschool, Kindergarten, Elementary School, and Adult classes.

By God's grace, we have been successful. We provide an attractive service to parents and children because 1) we offer education of the mind and heart as well as language proficiency, unlike other ¡°cram schools¡± which are typical of the Japanese education industry, 2) we offer quality language instruction created with the knowledge of effective curriculum planning and delivery, and 3) our primary purpose of business is not to make a profit, but to give back to the students as much of what we receive as possible. ¡¡In spite of our region's population being over 99% non-Christian, students are learning who Jesus is, how we should pray, what saves us, and other important lessons from the Bible. And the number of students is growing monthly! There are very few English language schools founded upon Christian faith in Japan due to the country's indifference of and intolerance against minor religions, so the fact that Zion is receiving good reviews is nothing but God's grace.

So we are looking for someone to join with us in our continuing ministry. We are looking for a Christian, together with whom we can share our faith, pray, teach, and celebrate everything God has done, is doing, and will do. We believe that as we pray and seek His will, He will bring the right teacher to us.
