English Academic Manager neededDate: 2010-07-25 22:07:52, Location: Southeast AsiaICAE is the first in a chain of Vocational Training Centres set up by Khai Minh Human Resource Development Corp, a subsidiary of Him Lam Real Estate and Financial Group. ICAE aims to produce quality, skilled workers for the high end of the labour market through its language and vocational training. English is a major part of the training package. The Academic Manager will manage ICAEs English department of the new training centre, due to open in September 2010 in Binh Chαnh District, HCM City, which consist of 22 classrooms, a training kitchen, a lecture hall, a library and 2 language lab/computer rooms. Scope: The Academic Manager is responsible for the day to day management and development of teachers on all teaching programmes, and will also include some teaching. The main task is course design and teacher management. The AM is also expected to do about half a full face to face teaching load, i.e. approx. 10-12 hours per week, as well as level testing. Position start date: August, 2010 Responsibilities: Teacher scheduling Course curriculum/syllabus design Material development/customization Recruitment and induction of new teachers Teacher observations / appraisals / quality control Teacher development / support Testing and assessment Placement testing Teaching and substitute teaching Other academic and administrative duties as requested Requirements: DELTA /TESOL or equivalent (part completion may be considered) 3 years teaching experience (including experience with adult learners) Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills A great deal of energy and enthusiasm A genuine team player Experience in course design/customization, material development Experience as an Academic Manager / Director of Studies is desirable but not essential. |
