Boston Educational Services, developer of the iTEP - International Test of English Proficiency - an internet-based English assessment exam, is growing rapidly and has an immediate need for an Academic Director. This is a full time position located in Los Angeles.
Job Description
*Job Summary Academic Director: Reporting to the Executive Director,the Academic Director is responsible for overall iTEP research and development. This involves all issues related to iTEP - the content, the variations,the recording and editing, the programming,the server-all in the interest of meeting our customers' expectations. In addition, s/he works to ensure that the server, which carries the iTEP exams, is up to date with the latest test content. *Job Duties
A.) Insuring iTEP is a quality instrument and meets the needs of our customers.
B.) Overseeing curriculum and content development of all product offerings(exams)
C.)Creating and maintaining score equivalencies with competing products
D.)Researching and understanding platforms, components, and contents of competitive products
E.)Obtaining and maintaining information on iTEP's proven reliability and valildity.
F.) Managing external IT providers to insure deadlines are met within budget.
G.)Insuring there are sufficient numbers of trained graders to meet the needs of our customers.
H.)Insuring there are sufficient numbers of item writers and editors available to meet our commitments and plans.
I.)Managing all academic projects that result from staff meetings and keeping the Executive Director informed of any projects that are falling behind deadlines.
J.)Maintaining existing relationships with colleges, universities, and high schools, and creating new ones.

Additional Salary Information:
Salary: commensurate with experience .

*Essential Qualifications:*
. Master's degree, preferably in international education, TESOL, or related field.
. Extensive ESL experience. . Two or more years experience working in test/curriculum development, administration, and/or advising in higher education testing
. Very computer literate, preferably with experience in online testing and/or digital content development . International study or work experience
. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required as per DHS regulations.
*Additional Qualifications:*
Dedicated commitment to the philosophy of international education is important; strong organizational and verbal/written skills required; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy office; proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications; knowledge or ability to learn system software(Admin); proficiency in at least one language other than English preferred
