IH Bratislava - Assistant Director of StudiesDate: 2010-07-29 05:07:50, Location: EuropeInternational House Bratislava requires DELTA or equivalent qualified Assistant Director of Studies to join its academic and administration team at the end of August 2010. The position involves: - Aid with coordination and development of the English Department - Supervising and providing day-to-day academic support to teachers - Participation in the teacher development programme and in-service teacher training - Help with the development of the portfolio of language courses offered by IH Bratislava. - Approximately 8-11 hours of teaching, both regular and stand-by, is also required. An ADOS is expected to work in close cooperation with other members of the academic team and administration in order to maintain a coherent and smoothly running system of work. Teacher training opportunities include delivering the IH Course in Teaching Business English and the IH TKT Preparation Course, both of which have been offered by the school. IH Bratislava became a Cambridge ESOL in 2009, which opens opportunities for Cambridge ESOL examining and for teacher training focusing on these exams. Teaching at IH Bratislava: takes place mainly in-companies, where both business and general English is taught. There are a number of general English school courses and a growing number of young learners’ courses taught at school or off site as part of our Start Right programme for young learners at primary schools. Compensation: Salary range for this post (depending on qualification and experience) For teachers staying in their own private accommodation: 983 EUR - 1067EUR per month, depending on qualifications and experience, including the 5% performance bonus which equals approximately 753 EUR - 812 EUR NET (after tax) per month Please bear in mind that the cost of living in Slovakia is lower than in many Western European countries.
