British Council India is recruiting a Senior Training Consultant to start work in February 2013 (or sooner if possible). This is a two-year contract with the possibility to extend for one further year.

You will contribute to the strategic and financial objectives of two strands of our portfolio (English Partnerships and Self-Access Learning) by:

leading on the academic management of ELT development projects for primary, secondary and tertiary level teacher educators, teachers and learners in the state sector predominantly in North India.

ensuring that digital and face to face products and services are appropriately integrated and delivered within projects in North India.

managing the content development and or adaptation of products and services delivered digitally as part of the Self Access Learning (SAL) strand of the British Councils global English language portfolio.

The post will be challenging and will require:

sound ELT project management experience including knowledge or experience of digital technologies for English language teaching and learning and monitoring and evaluation of ELT projects

experience of course planning and course design for teachers, trainers and learners

strong relationship building, networking and interpersonal skills, particularly with mid senior level government officials in challenging operating contexts

good team working skills to ensure collaboration and effective working with the north India and wider India team

The post is based in Delhi but regular travel around India, often to rural locations, is expected.
