The core work of this position includes: (1) developing and managing successful international programs (on the CSUN campus, online, and on-site at international locations) and partnerships of the California State University Northridge (CSUN) through the CSUN Tseng College (ExL); and (2) international recruitment for all the programs within the College.
As the International Programs Manager, develops and manages CSUN''s short-term programs for international groups; works collaboratively within ExL to develop and maintain effective and positive working relationships with the full range of support services within the Tseng College and the larger University; works with the director to strengthen and expand existing programs and partnerships; develops and/or manages English language preparation programs that may lead to other CSUN degree programs on the CSUN campus and/or online; works with the director to develop programs and strategies that allow CSUN to take its successful intensive English language program "on the road" in partnership with international schools/colleges/universities. Utilizes academic technologies to create academically strong online English language programs and skills evaluation strategies to place students accurately in the Intensive English Program prior to their arrival on campus. Functions as the PR representative for CSUN/EXL short-term programs. Works closely with the Finance team to develop budgets, monitor financial performance, price programs/services, and manage/report financial performance in accordance with ExL and CSUN standards and practices. Develops financial arrangements and partnership agreements; ensures that all agreements are in compliance with ExL, CSUN, and CSU policy; understands and follows the established approval process.
As the Outreach Manager, is responsible for international recruitment; ensures that well-qualified international students and clients are recruited to participate in CSUN programs; recruits students for CSUN''s Intensive English Program, Semester at CSUN and for CSUN''s short-term customized programs; assists the director in developing academic relationships with respected international universities; participates in the development of marketing materials; engages in the development of a yearly recruitment plan. Travels to domestic and international fairs/conferences and visits ongoing and prospective agencies and institutional partners. Develops new strategic relationship and business models to support the College''s three-year plan. Works closely with the members of the Marketing and Communications team to develop new aproaches and effective marketing, recruitment and client communication strategies. Develops and maintains a database using ExL''s CRM system (SalesForce with EnrollmentRX) to record initial contacts and all follow-up contacts with agencies, clients, and prospective students. Works with the director to develop a comprehensive approach to client, agency, and prospective student cultivation and communication, including effective PowerPoint and video presentations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor''s degree in a job-related field is required. A Master''s degree is preferred. At minimum, five years of full-time, progressively responsible relevant experience. Proven success in program development and administration in a lead role and knowledge and experience in conducting business in the international context are a must. Experience and expertise in developing curricula and teaching English language programs are an advantage. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of general practices, program, and/or administrative specialty, and operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Advanced knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to recruitment and conducting business in the international arena. Knowledge of program and service marketing. Demonstrated knowledge of international publications and web marketing. Experience coordinating English language programs for international students. Excellent communication and project management skills. Ability to analyze and apply CRM and PeopleSoft data to understand recruitment efforts. Ability and specialized skills to: Take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved; show expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with a broad administrative impact and implications; train others and provide lead work direction; Interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures to develop conclusions and make recommendations; perform basic research and statistical analysis; analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistics; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; write clear program descriptions/proposals/reports, budget narratives, personnel position descriptions, performance appraisals, and summary recommendations regarding administrative and program development reports. Ability to work in a diverse environment. Demonstrated computer skills using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.). Must have easy command of mobile communications and computer capabilities needed to work successfully with international clients and while traveling. Must be able to use email, financial/spreadsheet software, online calendaring and presentation software. Ability to speak and write in a second language is an advantage.

Anticipated hiring range: $4631 - $5500, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Temporary-renewable; year to year.
THE SELECTED CANDIDATE MUST PASS A FINGERPRINT CLEARANCE (LIVESCAN).
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: This position is expected make three to five international trips per year each lasting from one up to four weeks. Travel includes attending domestic and international conferences, visiting ongoing and prospective agencies and institutional partners, and making a variety of presentations. Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Passport for foreign travel. California Driver''s License preferred.
