Dedicated, flexible and creative ESL instructors needed in new program; be in on the ground -floor and on-going development of new program to provide English language and culture to predominantly Chinese pre-university students. Must be flexible and committed to development of the program as well as own professional development. Committed to working with a team of ESL professionals to ensure student success inside and outside the classroom. Will provide English language instruction in all levels and skills areas, with a possibility of teaching methodology classes. Ten-month contract (August May). Summer courses with additional compensation may be possible beginning in May 2013.
This position will begin late August 2013 and is for a 10-month, recurring appointment. Salary competitive. For more information on Lumenus USA: http://lumenususa.com/en/ Essential Functions: Provide up to 20 hours of classroom instruction in English language, communication and culture per week Provide feedback in order to improve program and materials Develop and use a number of instructional methods to benefit the individual learners Attend training sessions on program and materials use before courses begin Participate in the on-going development of curriculum, courses, assessments, and materials Hold office hours/tutoring lab supervision/student advising, approximately 6 hours per week Assist with placement testing and evaluation of student learning Attend weekly instructional training and professional development meetings Contribute to the development of program policies and procedures Work with instructors and university colleagues to best prepare students for university life Candidates should be interested in working at a university engaged in issues in Christian higher education in the Lutheran tradition.
