QUALIFICATION
Ph.D. in Geography

SUBJECT REQUIREMENT
A lecturer/senior lecturer in the broad field of Human Geography is sought, although specific expertise in Social Geography, Political Geography or Geographical Education is preferred.
Experience in statistics and geographical information systems is desirable, as is a strong interest in Caribbean Geography.

EXPERIENCE and COMPETENCIES
Experience in teaching and research in Geography in an academic environment of a tertiary level institution is desirable.
A publication record in internationally refereed journals would also be an advantage.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a capacity to develop future research and supervise graduate students.

SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in geography and related areas using both direct and distance delivery modes.
Conduct relevant research and participate in developing a multi-disciplinary research programme
Develop links in both public and private sectors in the Caribbean region in support of both teaching and research programmes.
Participate in geography related out-reach activities
Play an active role in the further development of the discipline.
Supervise undergraduate and graduate students
Perform related duties assigned by the Head of Department

Must be a team worker, with enthusiasm for both teaching and research in the furtherance of the new Geography programme at the institution.
