English Language Teachers: Thailand
Date 2013-02-27 02:02:42 Location : Southeast Asia:Thailand
Positions are full time, between 18 to 25 periods per week. We are only looking for teachers from the five native English speaking countries: America, Canada, The U.K., Australia or New Zealand. Not a personal preference, just what our client schools want.
The contract will start on May 1st, 2013 and run for a full twelve months, with 12 months pay. You will have most, if not all, of October off and most, if not all, of April off…with pay. We will set you up with National Health Care Insurance, as required by law, as well as pay the appropriate salary taxes for you, through our licensed accountant. You will given pay slips and an end of the year tax record, to prove that all proper taxes have been paid. We will assist you, in any way necessary, to acquire your Visa, Work Permit, Teachers License or a Temporary Teachers License. You will have to pay for your Visa and Work Permit up front. We will reimburse you for them, up to 5,000 Baht, in the final month of the contract.
Position starts from 30,000 and goes up to 50,000 Baht per month, depending on qualifications and experience. We are only accepting applicants with Bachelor degrees or higher. Your qualifications will be verified, directly with your academic institution. If you have a Bachelor degree in a field outside of education, you will be required to take and pass a TEFL certification course, to meet the new requirements of The Teachers Council of Thailand (TCT). We don’t mind where you take it, but it must be a TEFL issuing institution that is approved by The Royal Thai Ministry of Education (MOE). The MOE currently does not approve any online TEFL certification courses, as there is no way (according to them) to verify the quality of instruction at an online institution. You will also be required to have a Criminal Background Check mailed directly to us, from the appropriate policing body in your country of citizenship.
