Enjoy a relaxed lifestyle in the Penghu Archipelago without the pollution, stress and daily grind of the big city. Dragon English School in Magong is seeking a Foreign English Teacher to start in June/July. Magong is a small seaside city where you can find almost everything you need. Locals are relaxed and friendly and it's a great place to immerse yourself in Taiwanese culture & language. Penghu's pristine beaches and rocky coasts are fit for snorkeling, windsurfing, fishing, diving and more.
There are scores of beautiful islands for you to visit and explore while here and interesting local food and people to meet.Penghu is a small somewhat isolated place where few people speak English. The summer is long sunny and very hot while the winter is very windy and chilly!
Life in Penghu suits someone who is outgoing, independent and enjoys the outdoors. There are few foreigners here and less of the conveniences of living in a big city so Penghu is not for everyone.
Small family owned school with great students
1 year contract & ARC
Pay NTD550 per hour
Contract completion bonus 15,000 NTD
Between 18 - 22 teaching hours per week
No set office hours - prepare lessons in your own time
Working hours generally fall between 3pm - 8:30pm Monday - Friday (with possibility of some Saturday mornings)
Paid Holidays include: Chinese New Year (1 week in Jan or Feb) + other national public holidays
Basic temporary accommodation provided until teacher finds long term housing
The school environment is friendly and welcoming. There are 4 Taiwanese English teachers and 2 foreign teachers. The school focuses on practical English to pre-school through to elementary school age. There are also various other classes including adult and high school students. We have a well developed curriculum that aims to cover not only speaking and listening but also reading and writing.

We are looking for an outgoing, friendly, co-operative, flexible teacher who has the ability to teach pre-school - adult levels with a high level of enthusiasm and dedication. This job requires a strong commitment to the school and students and we expect our teachers to go the extra mile, while hoping we can offer them an enjoyable place to work and grow as a teacher.
