Director of Intensive ESL Program

The North American University (NAU) invites applications for a Director of the Intensive English Program (IEP). Responsibilities include IEP program development and administration, recruiting and supervision of full and part-time faculty, curriculum development, testing, promotion and outreach, development of short-term summer and winter ESL and American Cultural programs, development of short-term educational and cultural seminars for International professionals in TESOL, business and medical areas, and participation in professional development activities.
The IEP Director reports to the VP for Academic Affairs and Provost at NAU. The director works closely with the continuing education director, department chairs, the enrollment management, IEP academics and accreditation coordinator, IEP faculty and staff to expand the programs offered through IEP to serve and meet the needs of a wide range of international students in keeping with the expanding scope of North American Universitys global cultural competency goal.
Manage the daily operations of IEP and NAU remedial English courses. Participate in the recruitment of international students for the University and IEP. Represent IEP and the University effectively in all external and internal relations. Meet the needs of international IEP students regarding curriculum and student services. Plan, budget, and manage program finances. Provide leadership and supervision to faculty and staff. Make all IEP related employment decision recommendations to the Provost. Conduct faculty evaluations. Participate in strategic planning and assessment for accreditation. International travel is required for University wide program development, International MOA development, and recruitment efforts.
Required Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include MA in teaching English as a second/foreign language (TESOL), 5-7 years full-time experience teaching ESL and at least 2 years administrative experience in an ESL program. Experience in IEP program development, assessment and accreditation.
