York English is a highly progressive and well respected English training center situated in scenic Fuzhou, China. Fuzhou is well known for its hot springs, historic sites, clean air and beautiful parks. It is a modern cosmopolitan city of seven million people and offers a truly Chinese experience coupled with all of the western amenities that one would expect to find in a city of this size. Here at York English, we operate five schools and currently employ over 60 full-time foreign teachers who provide the regions highest quality English training. With the above in mind, if you are interested in stretching your wings as an ESL teacher, we are presently seeking dedicated people to come and join our cause.
Hold a bachelors degree or higher
Have a TEFL/TESOL/or CELTA certificate
Have English as your mother tongue and be a citizen of one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, England, New Zealand or the United States
Have an energetic and engaging personality in the classroom
Be passionate about teaching
Previous experience is an asset
Our classes never exceed a maximum of 16 students
Our teachers average 15 to 18 teaching hours per week
Our students range in age from 4 to 16 years old
Our teachers are expected to plan and prepare lessons for which the school provides an ample supply of resources and materials to use
Our teachers are expected to bring a high level of enthusiasm into the classroom so that they can provide a lively and interesting class for our students
What We Offer:
A starting wage of 7000 RMB/month with quarterly reviews and merit-based pay increases that can add up to 1000 RMB onto a teachers yearly salary
Free shared accommodation (two teachers per apartment) in a western-style apartment or a personal housing allowance of 1250 RMB/month
An 8000 RMB flight reimbursement
A working visa (Z Visa) and arrangements for medical insurance
A total of roughly 5 weeks of paid holidays including all Chinese public holidays, Christmas and an end of summer break
A highly supportive western management team that provides feedback and on-going training for all of our teachers
Opportunities for professional advancement as the school grows and opens more locations
