TeachingChile is a recruiting and placement firm located in Santiago, Chile. We have a number of universities, kindergarten through grade 12 schools (K-12), and adult-learner language institutes that have asked us to recruit talented teachers on their behalf. Candidates for the year 2010 (university and K-12 positions) should be available in Santiago, Chile on February 26, 2010, with an application deadline of December 31, 2009.
11-12 month contracts for year 2010 adult-learner language institutes are available monthly. For these positions you need to apply at least eight weeks prior to your expected arrival.

Note:
A $50 USD application fee is charged to distribute and promote an applicant to our network of schools.
Additionally, given the program is not supported by external funding, a $1,195 USD program placement fee will be charged and payable (in two installments) upon acceptance of a job offer. This fee covers a variety of services that TeachingChile provides to the participant:
- screening of the best teaching opportunities for our participants with a monthly salary sufficient to cover your basic living needs at the local standard of living,
- assistance in finding affordable lodging (in most schools the first month of lodging is pre-paid),
- experienced in-country coordinators to provide support and services during your stay,
- in-country orientation and training,
- a one-year subscription to an online English-language Chilean news service, and
- pre-departure information to ensure you are prepared for your trip including visa assistance and other recommendations to be sure you are properly equipped.
Qualifications
Depending on the teaching institution:
TEFL or TESOL certification desired, but not required.
Native English speaker (no exceptions).
University graduate (no exceptions).
Compensation
Depending on the teaching institution, benefits vary:
Schools in our network are not seeking volunteers. The hours and pay varies depending on the school, but in general you will receive a minimum of $335.000 Chilean pesos per month for 15 hours of teaching hours per week. More can be earned with more hours per week.
