About International University of Japan
The International University of Japan is a small English-medium graduate university which specializes in teaching international business, international development and international relations. It is located in the central mountains of Japan about 90 minutes by bullet train from Tokyo.
Job Description
We are looking for a temporary English for Academic Purposes Instructor to teach in our summer Intensive English Program for graduate level students from Japan and other countries.
The full CONTRACT runs JULY 7 through SEPTEMBER 7: one week orientation & debriefing and 8 weeks teaching. A short CONTRACT that runs July 7 through AUGUST 24 may be available.
DUTIES: Teach intermediate-level students up to 16 hrs/wk; assist in testing & materials preparation; attend meetings; write short student reports; participate in extra-curricular activities.
BENEFITS: Free accommodation provided on or near the campus. Transportation costs reimbursed soon after arrival. Health/accident insurance not included, but package can be provided at competitive rates.
LOCATION: Minamiuonuma-shi, Niigata prefecture, (a mountainous region about 90 minutes by train from Tokyo)

Additional Salary Information: The posted salary figure is in Japanese Yen. Short contracts are paid roughly at pro rata the full contracts. Final short contact details still being worked out.
U.S. citizens non-resident in Japan pay no tax in Japan but must report income to U.S. tax authorities.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: MA or equivalent in TESL/TEFL or related field and two-years experience teaching EFL/ESL at tertiary level. Experience with (1) intermediate students and intensive programs and with (2) teaching academic writing, oral presentations, & academic discussion skills is highly desirable. Experience of working in (3) coordinated academic programs would be helpful. Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Windows environments, including WORD and EXCEL, required.
