EFL Instructor, Daegu Gyeongbuk English Village, Korea

The city of Daegu, the third largest city in the country, is a one-hour flight or ninety-minute train ride southeast of Seoul. DGEV is located 40 minutes from the city of Daegu in a protected mountain setting. Full-time teachers will commit to a 12-month contract and teach five days per week as scheduled (possibly including weekends, holidays, and evening hours; overtime is available). An on-site international management team provides continuing support to teachers in all facets of teaching and living at the Village. All instruction is in English. Teachers are advised and supported through the process of obtaining a work visa prior to departure for Korea, and supported by UCCS throughout the duration of theiir contract.
We are currently recruiting teachers available to begin contracts on 1 July and 1 September (with travel to Daegu occuring the week before). Start dates later in the year are also be available; please contact us for more information!
NOTE: All applicants should be aware that immigration requirements for a Korean E-2 work visa include a national-level criminal background check with federal Apostille, a copy of the teacher’s highest degree with Apostille or other certification, and health screening for HIV/drugs. The exact requirements set by the Korean immigration authorities vary slightly based on the applicant’s country of citizenship. Contracts are conditional upon each of these requirements being satisfied. The appointee will be advised on and assisted in obtaining a work visa before s/he arrives in Korea. Serious applicants are advised to begin the process of securing these documents immediately as they may take up to four months to obtain. Additional Salary Information: Salary is in Korean won. Room and board included. Air tickets, health insurance, pension, and severance pay provided. Overtime pay and generous bonuses available. The legal employer is Yeungjin College, not UCCS.
