Academic Director, Intensive English & TESOL Programs

International Education Programs (IEP) at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) Extension, has one of the largest and most successful international programs in the USA. Each year, IEP welcomes over 5,000 international students from over 40 countries. UCR has been offering high quality programs and comprehensive services since 1975, including a multiple-level ESL program, TESOL programs, academic pathways programs, concurrent enrollment, post-graduate diplomas/certificates, and custom designed programs for short-term groups of visiting students and professionals. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Academic Director for our Intensive English & TESOL Programs unit. This is a 12-month renewable appointment; hiring salary range is $60,000 - $70,000.

Basic Qualifications M.A. in TESOL, Applied Linguistics or equivalent. Minimum of two full-time years or equivalent in complex language program administration including responsibility for curriculum design and development Minimum of three years in ESL instruction and teacher training in an IEP university setting Experience in computer assisted language learning (CALL) and educational technology. Experience providing effective advising to international students including program requirements and procedures. Experience researching, developing and delivering professional development in-services for instructors. Demonstrated project management skills.
