Kings Summer is a sister organization of Kings Education - a leading group of international colleges in the UK and USA. We have been running successful summer vacation courses for younger students for decades. At Kings, our summer programs are designed to be both structured and fun. This way, our students are happy, enthusiastic, and motivated to learn.
We are now hiring for residential ESL Teachers to join our team during the months of June/July/August for an exciting summer working with international students at Concordia College, Bronxville, NY and our California locations.
We are looking for experienced teachers who have a keen interested in working with international students to create a successful teaching, activity and sightseeing program.
The main role of the Teacher is to provide ESL instruction to our international students.
Some of our centers operate a double shift system, in this scenario teachers will have 30 contact teaching hours per week and also work a full-day excursion or airport transfers.
In the single shift scenario teachers are expected to teach 15 hours per week and do activity sessions and a full-day excursion or airport transfers.
All Teachers are expected to participate in meal and bedtime duties as scheduled. All teaching staff work a 6 day week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
? To help with testing and placement of students
? To provide ESL instruction (15 or 30 hours per week)
? Attendance at regular staff meetings and teacher development workshops
? To monitor and record student attendance
? To monitor and counsel students on academic matters
? To ensure students are prepared in class for excursions
? To submit regular specified academic paperwork to Director of Studies (work records, class
registers, completed reports)
? To lead and supervise of a wide range of sporting, social and interest-based activities (when
teaching 15 hours or on 6th day)
? To promote activities to students and prepare activities as directed
? To lead and supervise off site excursions or an airport transfer once per week
? To assist with meeting and greeting/checking in students on arrival and helping with departure
? To ensure Kings policy on child safeguarding and student welfare is followed
? Regular assistance with control of discipline, observance of time-keeping, etc. both at night-
time and meal-times
Applicants must be able to demonstrate:
? University degree
? Recognized teacher training qualification (CELTA, Trinity Cert. TESOL, Public school teaching or equivalent)
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
? Energy, enthusiasm, and empathy with children/teenagers
