Adelphi International — Associate Academic Director

Date 2016-03-27 04:03:32 Location : North America

About Us

Adelphi International is a partnership between Adelphi University and Shorelight Education. The mission of the International Accelerator Program is to immerse international students in the academic and cultural life of the university, help them integrate into campus life, and provide the support that increases their academic successes and likelihood in obtaining their degrees.

Job Overview

Adelphi International seeks a full-time Associate Academic Director (AAD) to manage a team of instructors and oversee the delivery of two academic programs to a diverse group of international students: an intensive English Language Program (ELP) and an accelerator program. The International Accelerator Program (IAP) includes two or three semesters of advanced English-language, study skills, acculturation, and general education courses prior to the start of a university degree program. IAP students polish their academic English-language and study skills and earn university credits before going directly into a bachelor’s degree program or into a Master’s program. The intensive English program includes five CEFR-based language levels, each of which combines intensive English language instruction and support with academic skills enhancement and acculturation for students who wish to study at an American university but must first improve their English-language ability by one or more CEFR levels before applying.
