The Access Project is at an exciting stage of its development. From September 2016, we will be working in 15 schools in Greater London and 6 schools in Birmingham and the Black country. We are aiming to work in 70 schools by 2020, to enable even more disadvantaged students the opportunity to study at one of the UK's top universities.
In London, we work with a community of over 1000 volunteers who donate their time to helping students improve their grades. Therefore, recruiting and training volunteers effectively is absolutely fundamental to our impact on students and growth as an organisation.
The post holder will join our newly formed and developing External Relations team working as a group to recruit new supporters to our organisation, such as schools, donors, trusts, companies and volunteers. They will also interact regularly with our Volunteer Coordinator in the West Midlands.
This is a varied role that combines responsibility for delivering high quality information and training sessions to potential volunteers with data management and excellent administration of the volunteer journey from expression of interest to matching with a student tutee. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with our Senior Volunteer and Business Coordinator on developing, delivering and reviewing our volunteer recruitment strategy and The Access Project volunteer journey. The right candidate for this role will combine meticulous organisation skills with a skill for communication and an understanding of the business and volunteer sector.
The Access Project is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and will expect the Volunteer Coordinator to share this commitment.
