Teacher of Science required for an SEN school in West London

Date 2016-08-27 20:08:27 Location : Europe

A Science teacher is required for a Pupil Referral Unit in West London to start in September. Ideally you will be a qualified teacher with QTS/QTLS but the school will also consider applicants with experience in teaching/tutoring if they have experience working with more challenging students. Students are aged 12-17 years olds

Ideally you will have a Scientific degree however experience with challenging students is more essential

The role is just a 10 mins walk from the nearest train station

The role of Science Teacher is full time, five days per week but the school might consider someone who can only work four days per week for example.

The school is very supportive, has good leadership and friendly staff

Class sizes are small - usually around 4/5 students per group and a full time support assistant

Teaching in an SEN school like this is very different to that of a mainstream school. The content level is often less academic and there are much different expectations on what classifies 'successful achievement'. Lots of emphasis is placed on the students and getting them a pass at GCSE for example rather than worrying about stats and A-C pass rates.

If you are able to work well with more challenging and 'streetwise' children to create a conducive working atmosphere, please send your CV right away for my attention: Dean Burnell

Here at ASQ Education, we are working on a number of other vacancies - both in Mainstream and SEN schools so feel free to contact me and I will try to help in whatever way i can.
