Salary: LGPS Grade 2, Point 8 – 13 (gross starting salary £10,165)

Location: Sudbury, Suffolk

Contract type: Part time, 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Contract term: Permanent

The purpose of the Teaching Assistant’s role is to work as a member of the Academy’s strong inclusion team, working with staff and predominantly students. The aim is to guide and support all students within the classroom to achieve their potential irrespective of background or barriers to learning.

Under the direction of the Director of Inclusion and Head of Faculty (English) and working closely with classroom teachers, the Teaching Assistant will contribute to all aspects of student attainment and achievement.

The role will involve supporting the classroom teacher, working with vulnerable students and managing student behaviour in a classroom setting.

The successful candidate will:

Have a good standard of education including GCSE (or equivalent) C or above in English and maths.
Be familiar with and uphold safeguarding policies.
