Position Information

Condobolin High School (enrolment 225 students, including 51% Aboriginal students is located on the Lachlan River on the western margin of the Lachlan Valley. The school attracts 6 transfer points and is an incentive transfer school. It has a mix of both experienced and early career teaching staff providing wide ranging opportunities for students at the school. Quality teaching practices have been a feature of the school's professional learning activities and the school remains focused on providing a quality learning environment for all students.
Condobolin High School is the hub school for the Lachlan Access Program. There are four core schools in this learning community. The school has a Family Occupation Education Index (FOEI) of 147 and attracts significant Resource Allocation Model (RAM) funding. The school is a PBL school with strong links with our local community. There is a strong focus on student welfare and learning support.

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach English (Years 7-12) and Modern History.

Approval to teach Stage 6 History, including Ancient and History (Years 7-10).

Evidence of exemplary quality teaching to integrate a differentiated curriculum into effective classroom practice to improve literacy and student engagement.

Demonstrated capacity to integrate ICT into effective teaching and learning programs.

Highly developed interpersonal skills with the capacity to collaborate and work as a dynamic member of an experienced faculty team and the wider school and local communities.

Understanding of an sensitivity to the needs of students from a rural background including cultural understanding and awareness of Aboriginal and students of low socio-economic status.
