Riobamba, known as ‘The Sultan of the Andes,’ is a wonderful place to live and work. Riobamba is located near the equator and is surrounded by majestic snow-capped mountains, such as El Altar (5.319 m high) and Tungurahua (5.023 m), an active volcano. Chimborazo (6310m), the closest point to the sun on Earth and the highest mountain in Ecuador, looms over the city. We enjoy a unique climate and temperature typical of the Ecuadorian Highlands (14 degrees celcius, on average.) Riobamba offers the perfect blend of tradition and modern convenience. With beautiful parks, wonderful restaurants, an active nightlife, traditional markets and modern shopping centers, it really is the best of both worlds. Riobamba is one of the cheapest cities in Ecuador. Our culture, our landscapes and our traditions will make your stay in our city really a wonderful experience.
