Teaching English as a foreign language is exciting, rewarding and immensely enjoyable. A qualification in ELT can open up job opportunities to live and work in the U.S. and abroad! Earn your Cambridge CELTA Certificate in just 4 weeks and begin a career that will last a lifetime.

    What is the Cambridge CELTA?

The CELTA – Certificate in English Teaching to Adults - is the largest and most prestigious of all short TEFL training programs. It aims to provide teachers with the practical classroom skills and knowledge which they will need in order to teach English in a wide variety of contexts. The current version of the program was introduced by Cambridge University in 1997 after several years of consultation with literally thousands of employers and other TEFL professionals all over the world.

    Who are we?

St Giles International San Francisco is one of a group of language schools and training centers first set up in England in 1955. Our center was instrumental in introducing short, practical TEFL training programs to the USA. We currently run EFL courses for students and training courses for teachers throughout the year. We are the longest established CELTA training center in the US and have classes that begin almost every month.

    Features of the course:

    • Pre-course language evaluation and interviewing of every applicant
    • Unique 35-hour pre-course assignment for all participants
    • Maximum of 18 participants in each course (maximum of 6 trainees in each teaching practice group)
    • Supervised teaching practice with classes of foreign students
    • Expert critiquing of teaching-practice lessons
    • On-site observation of EFL lessons given by our trainers and other experienced EFL teachers
    • Balanced program of lectures, seminars, demonstrations and workshops given by highly qualified and experienced faculty members
    • Expert job guidance during and after training
