    Location: Taiwan (Asia)

I am a 47 year old British national currently based in the UK but have spent most of my EFL career either in the UK or work in private language schools, kindergartens, primary schools and universities all over Asia. I also worked as an IELTS speaking and writing examiner while based at the British Council, Tokyo. I have a CELTA and a degree in English literature.

Like many people who have worked in Asia, however, I have struggled to readjust to life back in the UK and I am desperate to relocate.  My preference would be to work in Taiwan - I have heard excellent things about it from friends who have worked there - and, more personally, it is near my ex-wife and child, who both live in Tokyo.

Outside teaching, my hobbies include wild swimming [a fashionable term for swimming in natural environments] , hiking , reading contemporary fiction , sampling different street food from all over the world and traditional Japanese cinema. Somewhere fairly rural would suit me just fine.
