BEWARE ESL & TEFL TEACHERS - Laowai Career Center is China Job Fraud Scam!
Warning to all China job applicants. This Laowai Career Center company is a fraud run by a scammer from Russia named "Yuri" with his Russian girlfriend. They have many ways to scam you but they fool you with their charm and lovely website and a bunch of fake testimonials and reviews that he pays people to make for him.
First they try to get a fee from you. If you say "no" they then tell you "no problem" the employer will pay "because you are so qualified". This is BS, and the job you originally applied for - the high paying job, does not even exist. They just post those fake great jobs to get you excited enough to send your resume to them.
The job they finally offer you is a crap job with crap pay and if you don't take it the sales rep says you will be blacklisted to all the employers in China. But really, another girl I met who went through them says she became an identity theft victim, so we think they are selling the resumes and passport scans of all the applicants who refuse their shitty jobs.
They say they have been operating in China for 11 years but the company website is less than a year old! What they really should tell people is that they have been scamming in China for 11 years. These guys jerked me around for over a week and finally after getting their contract I realized that almost none of the promises they made verbally were in writing. Then I started finding all the warnings about them on line. If I had listened to the LCC "career counselor" (aka sales rep), Imight soon be one of these statistics; http://www.chinaforeignteachersunion.com/2017/02/almost-3000-foreign-employees-arrested.html.
