SCAM!!! AL MAWAHIB BRITISH PRIVATE SCHOOL AD
There is a group of con artists in the UAE trying to scam money out of international teachers abroad, by placing ads of positions in the UAE with lucrative salaries. They use real names (the school´s and director´s) and logos in their ads but slightly change the email address so as to trick unsuspecting teachers to correspond and conduct Skype interviews (they don´t use the camera saying that the connection is bad and it´s better to keep it off). They ask real interview questions and wait a day or two before they offer you the position. They send a realistic employment contract with seals and signatures. Once you sign the contract, they will send you contact details of a fake immigration office/travel agent who will handle everything (entry/work visas, flights, UAE approved teaching certificate, UAE residence, document mailing costs, etc...), but they can´t get started until you pay off the cost (the ¨school¨ promises to reimburse you two days after arrival). The fake immigration agent sends you a realistic-looking itemized invoice (also with official-looking stamps, seals and signatures), along with bank details (swift/account number) of a person with an Indian name. If you say you can´t afford the cost, the school will agree to pay 50% upfront and pretend to send it to the fake immigration agent. The agent then contacts you and tells you that your future employer has paid half, and that you really need to send the rest...but this time, since it´s such a small amount, you can just pay through Moneygram, to a different person, also with an Indian name (Do you see a pattern here?). If you delay in making the payment, the fake principal will contact you, and try to pressure to pay the balance or risk losing the position.
